Gas Detectors require regular test and calibration to insure they accuracy detect gas(es), before they present a hazard. Some gases are dangerous in low Part Per Million (PPM) and Part Per Billion (PPB) concentrations. As gas sensors age, they lose sensitivity. Exposure to gases and other environmental factors can cause a gas sensor to deteriorate. Calibration adjusts the meters sensitivity and compensates for changes in the sensor.
Safety Instruments uses gas mixtures that are NIST Weight Traceable. At your request, we will provide a calibration certificate for each gas detector we service. In addition to calibrating, we test each detector to insure they meet all manufacture performance specifications, as outlined in the manufacturers owner manual.
